What Are Some Student Responsibilities When Registered with Disability Services?

You must contact Disability Services each semester to request accommodations. If we have met in person before, we can meet by email or phone as long as you are asking for the same accommodations. (We can also do that if you cannot meet in person due to a disability reason.)

The accommodation letter will be send to your professors within the 1st week of class or soon after (if class is already in session). Talk with your professor about your recommended accommodations. Successful accommodations require communication! You may or may not be comfortable with talking about your disability. But, you need to be able to talk about what accommodations you need. 

Contact Disability Services if you change your schedule. This is especially important if:

• you use texts in different formats
• your class location was changed
• you are using adaptive technology that has to be moved or re-installed.

Contact Disability Services immediately if the professor does not take actions on your accommodations or if the accommodations are not working for you.
