Workforce Solutions to Offer Why Wait Workshop to Help Community Prepare for College Admission and Navigate Economic Downturn
Workforce Solutions will offer two dates for the upcoming Why Wait workshop, which seeks to assist individuals interested in working toward a college degree or other post-secondary credential. The workshop is free of charge and will provide a forum for participants to learn about career pathways, credit for prior learning, and academic programs. During the course of the workshop, professional staff will also provide on-site assistance with college admissions and financial aid processes.
Robert Boone, Workforce Transitions Coordinator with MCTC explains, This is a great opportunity for individuals who are interested in upgrading their marketable skill set to learn about the many ways our college can help. The workshop will be a useful tool in assisting participants who are new to college and who need assistance navigating the ins and outs of admissions and financial aid. By attending one of these workshops, it is possible for a participant to learn and complete key material all in one place and at one time, preparing them to enter training as early as January.
There are two opportunities to attend the Why wait workshop, which will be held at the Maysville Campus of MCTC on Friday, December 2nd from 1:00-5:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 8th from 4:00-7:30 p.m. All participants will be entered into a drawing for a basket of locally-produced products. For questions or to RSVP for one of the above dates, please contact Robert Boone at 606-759-7141 ext. 66180.
