In todays economy, nothing is more important than having a skilled workforce. This event will give service providers and businesses, the ability to share information, learn what is truly needed, explore current opportunities, and customize future training needs forward in a team effort, says Jason Slone, Regional Program Manager for the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training.

Keynote speaker and Lewis County native, Gary Kidwell, will discuss Developing Your Championship Team. Gary was inducted in the Kentucky Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2011 and on June 15, 2013 he will be inducted into National High School Athletic Association in Des Moines, Iowa. Gary will be sharing his strategies for successful training and coaching and how they can be applied to todays workforce.

In addition, a keynote presentation on New Initiatives in Workforce Development by Department of Workforce Investment Commissioner Beth Brinly will open the event. Kentucky Community and Technical College Chancellor Dr. Jay Box will then discuss Linking Economic and Workforce Development.

To have so many resources for businesses, educational institutions, government offices, non-profit organizations and community groups under one roof is a wonderful opportunity, says Barbara Campbell, Chief Officer for Workforce Solutions at MCTC. We think everyone will leave this event with specific ideas on how to strengthen their workforce and a better understanding of who to call when they have questions or need assistance in the future.
