Over 120 Participate in Kids College at MCTCs Maysville campus

With over one hundred and twenty kids participating in Kids College this week, the Maysville Campus at Maysville Community and Technical College was very busy. The camp, which is generally held the week after the Fourth of July holiday, continues to see growth each year. This year the 5-8 year olds attended art class, a reading class, and a Think Green class. This younger class completed craft projects including tie dye t-shirts, making silly putty, painting with leaves, and compiling a book about ME.

The 9-13 year olds were able to choose from a selection of courses which included Creative Crafts, Creative Writing, Fun with Aeronautics, Fishing, Adobe Photoshop, Cooking Up a Storm, Sign Language, Knights, Damsels and Castles, Oh My, and Safe Sitter. The 9-13 year olds enjoyed baking cookies, flying airplanes, manipulating photographs, learning a new language, exploring historical castles and reliving events that took place behind their walls, writing poems and songs, learning to be a safe baby sitter, and yes, catching the biggest fish. Each day ended with lunch which was provided by the Maysville Housing Authoritys summer food program.
