Maysville Institute of Culinary Arts Announces New Instructor
Maysville, KY (January 2, 2012). Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) is pleased to announce the employment of Ann Flora as Culinary Instructor. Flora, a Flemingsburg resident, received an Associate of Science degree in Culinary Arts from Sullivan University in October 2010. She had previously completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in French through University of Tennessee Knoxville.
Prior to joining MCTC, Flora was employed as a baker at Root-A-Bakers Bakery in Morehead for over nine years.
I have always been interested in culinary, said Flora. I can remember baking cookies with my mother. We had a big family and everyone had to help. However, we never had processed food. My mother always made our meals. Culinary is mostly a passion of mine. Its a place of endless exploration. I never dreamed I would have this opportunity. My hope is that this program will support local farmers and make more of an impact within the community.
Flora and her husband, David, have an eighteen year old son. David is an employee of Morehead State University.
