Fall Class schedule available for MCTC's Workforce Solutions

The Workforce Solutions Department on the Maysville campus of Maysville Community amp; Technical College (MCTC) is happy to announce that their fall brochure is now available online. The brochure contains courses for everyone. A series, Sensational Creations will be offered September through December. Carrie Taylor, MCTC Horticulture instructor will help students create nosegays, soap, salsa, herb wreaths, decorated gourds, a wheat sheave center piece, evergreen topiary and a holiday wreath amp; swag. These classes will fill quickly so be sure to register early. A variety of personal enrichment classes are offered this fall. Introduction to Photography, Dog Obedience, Welcome to Geocaching, AARP Safe Driving and Ballroom Dancing begin in September. Beginning in October and November ACT Prep, Art for Kids, Fit in Five, Photoshop Elements, Adv. Photography and Conversational Spanish will be offered.

For those who are looking for certification MCTC will offer Pharmacy Tech, Kentucky Medication Aide, amp; IV Therapy all which begin in October. For those professionals looking for CEU hours a Childcare Conference is scheduled in September, Waste Water training in October, and the Real Estate Core Course will be offered in November.

In October well be offering computer classes in Excel, Word and Power Point. Our popular culinary classes this fall include Cake Decorating, Comfort Food Remix and a Saturday Cooking Series that includes Do you know the Muffin Man?, Easy Scratch Pie Crust, Appetizers Galore, Soups On!, Around and Around a Noodle, Kids in the Kitchen, Meatloaf and Edible Christmas Gifts. Also in November a Dining with Diabetes cooking course will be offered.

On Saturday, October 2nd the first Farm to Fork Dinner will be hosted in the courtyard of the Maysville Institute of Culinary Arts. A limited number of tickets are available at $30 each. A series of Small Business Development Courses which include How to Start a Business, QuickBooks 2009, Writing a Business Plan and Financing your Business are also on the schedule. Finally, we will be offering Energy Auditor training, testing amp; certification this fall.
