Donna Slone-Crumbie Elected Chair of the KCTCS Faculty Senate
Cynthiana, KY Donna Slone-Crumbie, Assistant Professor teaching Reading and English at the Licking Valley Campus, was elected chair of the KCTCS Faculty Senate on Thursday, August 2.
Mrs. Donna Slone-Crumbie is a dynamic faculty member that is certainly an asset to Maysville Community and Technical College. She cares deeply about her students and works tirelessly preparing them for not only their academics major but for life as well. I feel sure that Mrs. Slone-Crumbie will represent our College well and I wish her well in this important KCTCS position, said Dr. Ed Story, President of Maysville Community and Technical College.
Donna Slone-Crumbie is serving her 2nd term on the KCTCS Council. Her position on Council stems from her being the Faculty Chair for Maysville Community and Technical College. Donna was the 2012 New Horizons Award of Excellence Faculty Winner. Donna has been an employee of Maysville Community and Technical College for seven years. During those seven years, she has been a part of many activities within the community of Harrison County, including: Womens Legacy Tea, Super Sunday, Martin Luther King March, Taste of Harrison County, and Writers Workshop. She earned her Master's in Arts and Education and her Bachelor of Arts in General Studies from the University of Kentucky. Donna is a member of the Lions Club, Harrison County Democratic Womens Club, and the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce. She is married to Tim Crumbie and has one son and two grandchildren.

As listed on the KCTCS website, the Chair of the KCTCS Senate has the responsibilities to serve not only as the Chair of the KCTCS Senate but also as chair of the KCTCS Council. Donna will prepare the agenda for the KCTCS Council meetings, be a member, ex officio, of all KCTCS Senate committees, share a report of the KCTCS Council at meetings of the KCTCS Senate among other responsibilities required for the office.
As authorized by the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Board of Regents, the faculty senate shall have the primary responsibility of determining academic policy and curricula development that shall be recommended to the president of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. The KCTCS Board of Regents authorizes the functions of the senate in Policy 1.4.
