MCTC Announces New Winning Combination: Accelerated Tech Programs with 100% Free Tuition
Maysville area students looking to get trained and go to work quickly, now have more options available at the Maysville Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC).
The Air Conditioning Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology and Welding Technology programs have “re-tooled” their curriculum, allowing students to earn a certificate, diploma or degree in a much shorter time frame.
Students entering these high-wage, high-demand and career-focused programs can expect to earn their first certificate in 4 months and complete the entire diploma program in 12 months.
“This effort comes directly from feedback from our students,” says Chief Enrollment Officer, Jessica Kern. “Prospective students wanted the ability to get their training quickly and get to work. We’ve also had success with accelerated options on other MCTC campuses so we are looking forward to seeing similar results for the students in and around Mason County,” Kern adds.
In addition to the shorter time frame, all of these programs are eligible for the Kentucky Work Ready Scholarship meaning that students can attend enroll in these courses 100% tuition-free.
“If someone is thinking of going to school or going back to take some classes, now is the time!” says Matt Watkins, MCTC Air Conditioning Instructor. “I get calls every week from companies looking for qualified technicians, it’s time to make the jump!”
The Maysville Campus will be hosting an Industrial Tech open house at the Technology Building on Tuesday, April 20 at 3 p.m. to give students an opportunity to learn more and speak directly to program coordinators and instructors.
