Inclement Weather Plans at MCTC

During inclement weather situations, there are four possible messages you may receive if you are signed up for SNAP messages.

  • A decision to delay or cancel day classes will be made by 6:00 a.m. or as needed later during the day. (NOTE to Health Sciences students - please follow program guidelines.)
  • A decision to cancel evening classes, offered at 4:30 p.m. or after, will be made by 3:00 p.m.

WEATHER ALERT – ALL CAMPUSES CLOSED

Due to winter weather, all MCTC campuses will be closed. All classes including virtual/remote learning and student services are canceled.

This message means that all MCTC campuses are entirely closed. Do not report to campus. Buildings and parking lots will not be open for students, faculty, or staff. Classes are canceled. Faculty and staff do not work remotely during this time, so student services are not available virtually.

REMOTE INSTRUCTION/SERVICES – ALL MCTC BUILDINGS CLOSED

Remote services and instruction are being delivered due to inclement weather. More info at maysville.kctcs.edu

This message means that all campus buildings and parking lots are closed. Do not report to campus.  Buildings and parking lots will not be open for students, faculty, or staff. Faculty and staff will be working remotely during this time, so student services are available virtually. For classes that are able, instruction will also be delivered remotely. Email your instructors for more information regarding your classes.

DELAY

MCTC campuses are operating on a delay due to inclement weather. More info at maysville.kctcs.edu

This message will include the number of hours that the delay will last. For example, MCTC normally would open at 8 a.m., but if we are experiencing a 3-hour delay, campus buildings will open at 11 a.m. All classes before 11 a.m. are canceled. Faculty and staff do not report to work until 11 a.m. Student services are not available remotely before 11 a.m. but will be available on-campus as normal after 11 a.m.

Normal Schedule

MCTC campuses will be operating on normal schedule. Use your best judgement when driving to campus due to slick road conditions. Check with your instructor for information regarding classes.

This message means that MCTC campuses and parking lots will be open as normal, and there is not a weather delay or closing.
