
MCTC welcomes 2 new board members

Maysville Community and Technical College recently received new appointments to its
Board of Directors from Gov. Andy Beshear.
Those appointments include Scott Smith and Claire Estill McHugh.
Smith has served as vice president and controller at the Bank of Maysville in Maysville, Kentucky, for 25 years.
Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Kentucky (UK) and has been a certified public accountant for 28 years.
“I am excited to help continue the excellent work of MCTC in providing quality education and workforce training for our community,” he remarked.
Smith currently serves on the board of directors for the Bank of Maysville and as an elder and treasurer of New Hope Christian Church.
Estill McHugh is a partner with Fox, Wood, Wood & Estill in Maysville, Kentucky, and serves as assistant Mason County attorney and assistant commonwealth’s attorney for the 19th Judicial Circuit.
She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton and was selected to serve with Teach for America, where she taught in Cincinnati, Ohio. She later earned her law degree from Northern Kentucky University’s (NKU) Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
“I’m honored to be appointed to the MCTC Board of Directors and grateful for the opportunity to serve our region in this capacity. MCTC plays a critical role in expanding access to educational and workforce opportunities in our community,” said Estill McHugh. “When our students succeed, our entire community benefits. I look forward to working with fellow board members in supporting programs that help students achieve their goals and strengthen our region.”
Estill McHugh currently serves on the Tom Browning Boys & Girls Club Board, Saint Patrick’s School Board, Leadership Horizons Board, and the Hayswood Foundation.
