Portrait of Amanda Conley, smiling.Amanda E. Conley, executive assistant to the president of Maysville Community and Technical College, has taken on another important responsibility as MCTC’s alumni coordinator.

As the first person to serve in her new, part-time role, she will be overseeing alumni activities and events on the College’s four campuses, as well as promoting alumni membership among the thousands of former students who have earned a degree or other credit at MCTC or its predecessor institutions.

“We are so pleased that Amanda has agreed to serve in this important position as we continue to increase our engagement with alumni and other friends of MCTC,” said Cara Clarke, director of advancement. “Her ties to the College are strong and she understands the value of supportive alumni to an institution of higher education.”

A graduate of Mason County High School, Conley earned an associate degree at MCTC in 2012 and a bachelor’s degree at Midway University in 2018. She now is pursuing a master’s degree at Morehead State University.

“MCTC opened a world of opportunities for me and so many others and I am thrilled to have this opportunity to give back to the school,” Conley said. “It is exciting to be able to play a part in building relationships with others whose lives also have been touched by MCTC.”

Conley grew up in Maysville and currently resides there with her husband, Chris, and three daughters: Madilyn (8), Allison (5) and Evelyn (1).

Her family connections to MCTC are solid. Both of her parents -- Paul and Sherry Earhart -- are graduates of the college, as is her husband.

“My husband and I both benefitted greatly from scholarships provided by alumni donors to the MCTC Foundation and I want to reinforce that mission with current and future alumni,” Conley added.

Conley’s appointment is the third major initiative started recently by MCTC to strengthen its ties with alumni and other friends. A new e-mail engagement system was launched last fall. A new website for alumni, mctcfoundation.org, was activated late in the fall semester.

The Alumni Association is being formally organized and recognized this spring as a component of the MCTC Foundation, Inc.

“The College has respected and appreciated its alumni since we were founded more than 50 years ago, but now we can be even more effective in communicating with former students and engaging them in a variety of ways in supporting MCTC,” added Clarke.

Any person holding a degree, diploma, certificate, or other credential from MCTC is eligible for active membership in the Alumni Association. For more information, go to maysville.kctcs.edu/alumni.
