MCTC Student Competing in State PBL Competition

Shannon Harlow, Vice President and Treasurer of Maysville Community and Technical Colleges Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) chapter, will compete in this years Kentucky State Competition. The event will be held during the Spring Leadership Conferenceon April 12and 13. Shannon will be competing in the Accounting Principles category including competencies such as basic principles of financial accounting, terminology, measurement, valuation, realization, worksheets, and professional standards and ethics.

Shannon is the 19 year old daughter of Veronica Harlow and the granddaughter of Pam Sebastian of Tollesboro. She is completing an Associate in Science degree with an emphasis in Nursing through MCTC.

PBL, an organization geared toward students preparing for careers in business, entrepreneurship or other business-related fields, has recently been re-established at MCTC under the direction of Associate Professor of Business Administration Wendy Noble.

The main focus of PBL has been on student involvement, community service, and leadership, said Noble. We wish Shannon the best of luck at the state leadership conference.
