MCTC RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD FOR COMMUNICATIONS
For the second consecutive year, Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) received an award for outstanding achievement in communications from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR).MCTC received a bronze Paragon Award in the Electronic Annual Report category for its 2014 Community Annual Report. The Paragon Awards is an annual award celebration honoring the marketing and communication efforts of community college marketing and public relations professionals.
The Annual Report featured highlights from each of MCTCs locations and was designed by Justin Dean, Media Designer. After the success of last years electronic annual report, which was a first for MCTC, we wanted to go even bigger for the 2014 report, said Dean. We developed the 2014 report as an interactive website loaded with engaging content about our students, college, and service area communities.
MCTC was the only Kentucky college honored within the 53 award categories. To be recognized with a national award for two consecutive years is a great achievement for us, said Dean. A total of 1,757 entries from 256 colleges were considered for this years competition.
The Paragon Awards ceremony was part of the national conference held in Portland, Oregon this spring. NCMPR is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges. NCMPR has more than 1,700 members from 565 colleges across the United States, Canada, and other countries. The full list of award winners can be found at http://www.ncmpr.org/paragon.
Design and writing for this years report is underway now. The 2015 Annual Report will be released later this summer.
