Ruvelyn Tucker has been named Maysville Community and Technical College’s April Student
of the Month (SOM).
Tucker is a work study on the Maysville Campus, participates in Student Support Services (SSS) activities, and is always an exceptional student and person.
“Ruvy is always courteous and kind to her colleagues and fellow students. She is welcoming to all who enter our office with her smile and contagious laugh,” said Angie Potter, Director of SSS at MCTC.
Tucker maintains a 3.20 GPA and always strives to make the Dean’s and/or President’s Lists at the college.
She is currently enrolled in the maximum amount of classes allowable, and intends to complete a Business Administration degree in the Fall 2026 semester. After graduating from MCTC, she plans to transfer in pursuit of a bachelor’s in business.
“Ruvy’s accomplishments haven’t come easy. She is originally from the Philippines, and she has a busy life as a wife, mother, and partner in a family-owned tree trimming service outside of her full-time hours as a student,” Potter said.
