The award highlights their contributions and commitment to creating and promoting local and accessible transfer pathways that empower students in the area.

This year, Courtney Myers was selected as the staff recipient.

Myers is a student support specialist at MCTC who is dedicated to ensuring students are successful and prepared for their transitions to a new academic environment.

“She advocates for resources and support systems that facilitate smooth transfers, demonstrating her passion for student success before, during, and after their transition,” Myers’ nominator remarked.

Acknowledging her nomination, Myers pointed out the benefits of transferring.

“I am honored to be nominated as a Transfer Champion. I love to talk to students about transfer,” she said. “MCTC is such a great place to start an associate degree; you get wonderful support from faculty and staff, not to mention great transfer scholarships and affordability. I am grateful to work with amazing colleagues who recognize and support the potential in our students and their academic journeys.”

Wendy Noble, the business administration program coordinator and a faculty member at MCTC, is a true advocate for the transfer pathways.

Attending summits with Morehead State University (MSU)—a transfer partner of MCTC—and remaining current with curriculum changes, Noble directly aids students in understanding the impact on students.

“Wendy discusses transfer with every technical student she enrolls, identifying students who she believes will be successful in earning a bachelor’s degree and encouraging them to continue their education,” Noble’s nominator said.

Noble remarked on her nomination, highlighting some personal rewards for promoting transfer pathways to MCTC students.

“Being named a Transfer Champion truly means a lot to me. Guiding students as they take such an important step in their academic journey is incredibly rewarding,” she said. “I am grateful to be part of a process that helps them feel supported, prepared, and confident as they move forward in their educational and professional goals.”
