MCTC partners with God’s Food Pantry

Maysville Community and Technical College has partnered with God’s Pantry Food Bank to expand access to nutritious food and essential resources for students, beginning with the Rowan Campus.
While MCTC currently operates food pantries at each of its four campus locations, this partnership connects students to the broader God’s Pantry network, offering a range of community-based resources that extend beyond the college. Through this collaboration, MCTC will help guide students to services that not only support them during their education but also strengthen their transition into the workforce.
Founded in 1955, God’s Pantry Food Bank has served Kentucky communities for nearly 70 years. The organization supports more than 500 partner agencies across 50 counties and distributes over 40 million meals each year. Its mission to reduce hunger and promote stability aligns closely with MCTC’s commitment to empowering students through education and opportunity.
“Education changes lives, but it takes partnership to make that change last,” said Dr. Shana Savard-Hogge, Associate Director of Grants. “Our partnership with God’s Pantry reminds us that progress takes all of us. God’s Pantry brings decades of experience feeding and strengthening communities, and MCTC brings the power of education and connection. When we work together, we make it easier for students to focus on learning, build stability, and carry that strength with them into the workforce. Many hands truly make light work.”
MCTC President Dr. Laura McCullough added, “Through this partnership, MCTC is building on the success of our campus food pantries and expanding access to vital community resources. Our students benefit from the expertise of an organization that has been serving Kentucky families for generations, while we continue doing what we do best in educating and empowering students to reach their goals.”
Plans are underway to expand the partnership beyond the Rowan Campus to additional MCTC sites, further supporting student success and strengthening the communities we serve.
