Kern to represent MCTC in CPE Leadership exChange

Jessica KernDr. Jessica Kern, vice president of enrollment and student services at Maysville Community and Technical College, was recently appointed to participate in the 2025-26 Leadership exChange program at the Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE).

According to Kern, Leadership exChange will help her connect with higher education leaders across the commonwealth and explore new strategies that strengthen enrollment and student success.

“It’s a great opportunity to grow as a leader and bring back ideas that improve how we recruit, retain, and support students at MCTC,” Kern remarked.

The year-long program provides comprehension skills and tools to aid faculty and staff in leading strategic change initiatives, fostering innovation, and driving campus improvements.

“By learning new ways to facilitate change and drive innovation—and by drawing on best practices nationwide—we can continue making improvements in how we support student success here at MCTC,” she said.

Kern hopes to introduce several positive changes to the college after the program, using data to guide decisions, streamline processes, and improve collaboration across internal departments and with external partners.

“I’m excited to work with leaders from across Kentucky who share a commitment to student success and enrollment growth,” said Kern. “Collaborating and sharing ideas will help us all strengthen our institutions and better serve our students.”
