ALL MCTC CAMPUSES OPERATING ON 3 HOUR DELAY MONDAY, DECEMBER 15.

All MCTC campuses are operating on a 3-hour delay on Monday, December 15. Campus buildings will open at 11 a.m. Faculty and staff do not report to work until 11 a.m. Student services are not available remotely before 11 a.m. but will be available on campus as normal after 11 a.m.

MCTC president appointed to national commission

Dr. Laura McCulloughDr. Laura McCullough, president and CEO of Maysville Community and Technical College, has been appointed to the American Association of Community Colleges’ (AACC) Commission on Economic and Workforce Development. 

The commission charged with examining he means of closing American skills gaps by focusing on career and technical education, ultimately preparing students with the knowledge and skills required for the workforce in affordable means.

“I am honored to serve on the AACC Commission on Economic and Workforce Development and look forward to contributing my knowledge and experience to the AACC governing board,” said McCullough. “As a long-time member of the organization, I value its vital role in advancing community colleges and workforce development nationwide.”

McCullough’s appointment represents her ongoing commitment to progressing the role of community colleges nationwide. She currently serves on several boards and committees on various levels.

These include the Meadowview Regional Medical Center Board of Directors, MCTC Foundation Board of Directors, and the Council on Finance and Administration for the Eastern District of the Kentucky Conference of The United Methodist Church, following a recent restructuring of the districts. 

Additionally, McCullough recently completed a term on the Kentucky Community and Technical College Foundation Board.

McCullough’s term on the AACC commission began July 1, 2025, and will continue through June 30, 2028.

McCullough has served as president of MCTC since June 2022. Her leadership continues to focus on student success, reflecting her commitment to strengthening the college and the community it serves.
