Maysville Community and Technical College’s Practical Nursing (PN) program continues
to raise the bar in nursing education, as its eighth cohort has achieved a 100% pass
rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
This latest achievement by the Rowan Campus cohort adds to the program’s ongoing success, marking the seventh consecutive year in which every student passed the NCLEX.
Dawn Greenfield, an associate professor in the nursing program, remarked on the accomplishment.
“This outstanding achievement is a true testament to the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of our students, as well as the unwavering support we receive from MCTC and our community partners,” Greenfield remarked. “I was absolutely giddy with excitement—shouting it from the rooftops—after the final student completed testing. This is a moment worth celebrating.”
According to Greenfield, passing the NCLEX is a pivotal step to becoming a licensed nurse.
Reaching a 100% pass rate reflects not only the program’s strength, but also the bright
future of nursing in the community.
“Congratulations to our graduates—you have made us incredibly proud, and we know you will go on to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you care for,” Greenfield said.
Ginger Clarke-Gallagher, Associate Vice President of Health Sciences and Nursing Program Administrator, noted the dedication of those involved with the PN program.
“This extraordinary accomplishment is a reflection of the unwavering dedication, expertise, and passion of our nursing faculty,” said Ginger Clarke-Gallaher, Associate Vice President of Health Sciences.
She continued, “Achieving a 100% NCLEX pass rate for eight consecutive cohorts is no small feat. It speaks volumes about the strength of our program, our students and the exceptional leadership of Dawn Greenfield and Jennifer Garner, an assistant professor in nursing, whose commitment to student success continues to set a standard of excellence in nursing education.”
