
Johnson named MCTC SOM for June 2025

Maysville Community and Technical College is proud to recognize Elizabeth Johnson
as the Student of the Month (SOM) for June, celebrating her exceptional academic achievements,
unwavering dedication, and passion for learning.
Johnson, a Business Transfer student with a concentration in accounting, has been enrolled at MCTC since Fall 2022.
From the beginning of her college journey, she has distinguished herself as an outstanding student who consistently demonstrates academic excellence, professionalism, and drive.
With a perfect 4.0 GPA, Johnson exemplifies what it means to be a committed scholar.
Her achievements have earned her the prestigious President’s Award of Excellence, a testament to her consistent performance and leadership in the classroom.
According to her nominating instructor, Associate Professor of Accounting Natasha Maddox, Johnson is “an innovative, hard-working student” who is highly organized, motivated, and creative.
“It is evident that Elizabeth’s dedication to her education and my courses is above and beyond,” said Maddox. “My observation of her is that she strives to excel in all her endeavors. She exerts to be the best she can be and is a very organized, motivated and creative individual.”
Beyond her success at MCTC, Johnson has set her sights on the future.
She plans to transfer to the University of Kentucky to pursue an MBA in Accounting, furthering her education and preparing for a rewarding career in the business world.
Johnson’s commitment to excellence, paired with her strong work ethic and positive attitude, makes her a role model for her peers and a deserving recipient of the Student of the Month honor.
