Sandy PowerSandy Power has been appointed campus director for the Licking Valley Campus (LVC) of Maysville Community and Technical College.

A lifelong Harrison County resident and Harrison County High School graduate, Power brings unmatched experience, passion, and commitment to her home campus and this pivotal role.

Having first stepped onto LVC as a student in January 1995, Power began working as a Federal Work Study student that fall. She became the third full-time employee of the campus, joining a team that later grew enrollment to over 400 credential-seeking students.

Over the last 30 years, Power has held several key positions at LVC, including business office staff, staff coordinator, public relations specialist, community education liaison, and assistant campus director.

Since 2014, she has served as the director of Financial Aid, helping thousands of students access higher education without the burden of out-of-pocket costs.

“I have seen countless people raise themselves and their families out of generational poverty, and it is truly rewarding,” Power remarked. "Higher education has the power to transform lives—not just for students, but for their families and the entire community. My purpose as campus director of LVC is to ensure every student who seeks to change their future can do just that with the dedicated faculty and staff here. We are the community’s college.”

A proud MCTC alumnus, Power holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management from Midway College and a Master of Public Administration from Northern Kentucky University.

With deep roots in the community and a career dedicated to student success, Power is ready to guide LVC into the next chapter.

“I dearly love the people of this community and recognize that without their support, there would be no Licking Valley Campus,” Power said.
