Giving Day 2025 a huge success: MCTC raises second-highest amount out of 16 colleges

Maysville Community and Technical College is thrilled to announce that Giving Day 2025 was a huge success, with the institution finishing second out of 16 Kentucky Community and Technical College System colleges for the highest dollar amount in donations raised.

With a goal of 75 contributions and 90 gifts reported in just 24 hours, MCTC received an impressive $58,464.20 from its loyal supporters, significantly exceeding the target.

Funds received on Giving Day will be used for MCTC’s food pantry, student emergency funds, student completion funds, the Maysville scholarship fund, and the MCTC Alumni Association.

“Wow! I was so impressed with the generosity of our community to help these college fund-worthy projects. On behalf of MCTC students, I want to thank all who contributed. Your contributions will make a huge difference for our students,” remarked MCTC President and CEO Dr. Laura McCullough.

In a 2023 survey of KCTCS students, 58 percent indicated they worried about having enough money to pay for college, while 48 percent reported experiencing food and housing insecurities.

On a system-wide level, the total number of gifts contributed on Giving Day increased by 28 percent from last year.

With contributions from current faculty and staff, retirees, alumni, friends, board members and students, MCTC is incredibly grateful to our donors.

"Thanks to your incredible generosity, MCTC had an outstanding Giving Day — raising the second highest total out of 16 colleges! Your support fuels our mission and empowers our students. We couldn't have done it without you,” acknowledged Cara Clarke, executive director of MCTC’s foundation.
