One step at a time: Miles for Mom Fun Run/Walk supports students
Published on Mar 17, 2025
Maysville Community and Technical College is proud to host Miles for Mom Fun Run/Walk in partnership with the Maysville Younger Women’s Club (MYWC). This event not only celebrates mothers, but also directly supports MCTC students who are mothers by helping to cover the cost of textbooks and tuition.
“We are so excited to be a part of this meaningful event,” remarked LeAnn Myrick, a Ready to Work coordinator at MCTC. “Education is life-changing, and by participating in Miles for Mom, our community can make a real impact in the life of a student who is working hard to create a better future for her family.”
The morning will begin with check-in and registration at 8:30 a.m., where attendees can browse resource tables and create a special craft for mom. A morning yoga and stretch session at 9 a.m. will help prepare participants for the Miles for Mom Fun Run/Walk, scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m.
There are three registration options.
Option one is $25, which includes an entry fee, yoga session and water bottle.
Option two is $30, which includes an entry fee, yoga session, water bottle and a personalized message on a yard sign for mom.
Option three is a $25 sleep-in option, which allows the community to support the event from home while still contributing to the cause.
Following the fun run, participants can pick up a free water bottle and any purchased personalized yard signs. Complimentary bananas and water will also be available.
Payments can be made via cash or check. Checks should be made out to MYWC.
MCTC is thrilled to be part of this initiative, blending community support, health and education. For more information, please contact a MYWC member or message them on Facebook.
