Maysville Community and Technical College is proud to recognize Jenerose Richards as Alumnus of the Month for February 2025.

A dedicated healthcare professional, Jenerose graduated from MCTC in December 2020 with an associate in applied science degree and a Practical Nursing (PN) diploma. Since then, she has been making a difference in the medical field as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at St. Claire Hospital.

Passionate about continuous learning and professional growth, Jenerose is currently enrolled in the bridging program to further her education in nursing.

“I love what I do, and advancing my education has always been my goal since I started nursing,” Jenerose shared.

Reflecting on her time at MCTC, she acknowledged her deep appreciation for the supportive faculty and staff at the college.

“The staff are amazing! They are always there to help, answer questions, and do everything they can to support us (the students),” she said.

As a former Ready to Work student, Jenerose credits the program with helping her to develop crucial time management skills and gain exposure to the modern workplace.

“It really helped me learn to balance responsibilities and interact with people from all walks of life,” Jenerose explained.

The program, discovered through a friend’s recommendation, became a stepping stone toward her successful career in nursing.

For Jenerose, nursing is more than a job. It’s a lifelong dream.

“I love doing what I do, and nursing has always been a passion of mine,” she remarked.

While future career advancements may lead her to explore other institutions, MCTC remains a cherished part of Jenerose’s journey.

“MCTC has been a home away from home for me. The people here genuinely care about student success, and I would always recommend MCTC to others,” Jenerose said.

MCTC is honored to celebrate Jenerose’s accomplishments and commitment to the nursing profession. Her dedication exemplifies the mission of MCTC—helping students achieve their dreams and positively impact their communities.
