Humphries named MCTC SOM

Maysville Community and Technical College is proud to announce Chris Humphries as Student of the Month (SOM) for January 2025.

MCTC faculty and staff are invited to make such nominations for students who deserve recognition for extraordinary effort and accomplishments each month.

Selected students receive recognition through a signed certificate from the president and by having their photo displayed in the President’s Office lobby for the month.

Chris, an IT major with a GPA of 3.897, exemplifies the significant value and dedication that MCTC strives to encourage in its students.

Chris was nominated by Sherry Stacy, a Student Support Service’s (SSS) college counselor at MCTC, for his academic achievements, character and contributions to the Montgomery Campus. Chris serves as a tutor, assisting students in nearly every subject.

As a SSS college counselor, Sherry always gets to know her students beyond academics. Students share their hopes and dreams, as well as their hardships. Chris, a devoted father outside of school, has always put one foot in front of the other in perseverance during trials of tribulation.

“If there was a human of the month, I’d nominate him for that too!” Sherry remarked.

Chris is set to graduate at the end of the Spring 2025 semester and has consistently shown devotion toward his academics at MCTC.

MCTC congratulates Chris on his well-earned recognition and wishes him continued success as he approaches graduation.
