Maysville Community and Technical College is inviting local businesses and organizations to sponsor Trade Wars 2025, an award-winning and highly anticipated event that showcases the skills, innovation and competitive spirit of students in skilled trades.
Trade Wars 2025 will feature live competitions in a range of trades including nursing, welding and everything in between. Students from regional high schools will compete head-to-head, demonstrating their technical expertise and problem-solving abilities. The event will also provide an opportunity for local businesses, professionals and community members to engage with potential future employees, demonstrate their commitment to developing the next generation of skilled workers and witness the growing demand for skilled trade workers.
“We are excited to host Trade Wars 2025 and see familiar and new faces at this incredible event for our high school partners! Each year, we are blown away at the participation and success of this event and look forward to another exciting day,” remarked Natalee Brown, director of Recruitment at MCTC.
In its preceding years, Trade Wars attendance has averaged between 400 and 600 students with at least 16 districts and several dozen business/industry partners being involved. The event is free to all schools who wish to attend and participate. With attendance, MCTC provides free swag and free lunch from Connie Jo’s. Winning schools can leave with bragging rights.
With countless hours of hard work and dedication contributed by the MCTC marketing team, the department was awarded the district-level Gold Medallion Award at the 2024 National Council for Marketing and Public Relations Conference (NCMPR) for the brand identity for Trade Wars, which was created from the ground up.
Because of the success of Trade Wars, other schools have begun to plan similar events. MCTC is proud to host such an event that gives high school students a reason to be excited about our institution, leading to the matriculation of prospective students. This event runs solely off donations from our incredible partners. Without these generous contributions and the devotion contributed by MCTC staff and faculty, Trade Wars would not be what it has become.
“We are fortunate to have our business and industry sponsors that donate their funds to help us host this event and extend an invitation to additional partners to help with funding,” Natalee accentuated. “Your donated dollars help purchase food, shirts and prizes for the event and allow your business name to be seen throughout the event and on the t-shirts!”
