Maysville Community & Technical College is proud to announce that the Licking Valley Campus’ Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program was recognized in the top five programs in Kentucky by registerednursing.org.
RegisterdNursing.org ranks the top twenty programs in Kentucky using current and historical licensure pass rates as the primary means to measure student support toward licensure and beyond.
The National Council Licensure Examination or NCLEX is a nationwide standardized examination used by state regulatory boards to determine if recent graduates are prepared to become licensed as entry-level nurses.
“The Licking Valley Campus has a very unique quality, and that is teamwork and collaboration within our faculty. I truly believe that teamwork has gotten us where we are today, along with a large quantity of time and patience. This rings true with our students as well,” said Melanie Morris, nursing professor and assistant program coordinator for the Licking Valley Campus.
She added, “Our main goal for our students is to practice as safely as possible and love nursing with as much heart as we do. We are thrilled to be ranked #5 in the state of Kentucky this year for top schools of nursing. It is a true accomplishment for LVC staff and faculty.”
The Licking Valley Campus boasted a 93% pass rate of the NCLEX this year adding to its nearly perfect NCLEX exam pass rate for its RN program students since 2015.
“Our nursing instructors at the Licking Valley Campus have truly established a legacy of excellence,” says Ginger Clarke, Associate Dean of Health Sciences and Nursing Program Administrator. “We could not be prouder of them, the MCTC faculty, staff, and our students who have worked incredibly hard to build this program to where it is today.”
The ADN program prepares graduates to provide and manage patient care and to become valuable members within the discipline of nursing.
In addition to the Licking Valley Campus, the ADN program is also offered on the Maysville Campus and the Montgomery Campus in Mount Sterling.
