The Culinary Arts Institute of Maysville Community and Technical College will close effective June 30, 2025.

“The decision was a difficult one and was based on consistently low enrollment in the program,” MCTC President and CEO Dr. Laura McCullough remarked.

With the culinary program closing, current students at MCTC have been a top priority every step of the way. They were notified of the closure and have discussed further steps with program coordinators.

“Our top priority is ensuring that all currently enrolled students have the opportunity to complete their education,” said Dr. Dana Calland, vice president of Academic Affairs at MCTC. “We have implemented a comprehensive teach-out plan that includes tailored academic advising, access to necessary courses, and dedicated support services to guide students through this transition.”

Students with lapsed enrollment, having previously completed culinary courses, will be encouraged to seek enrollment at another institution to complete the program.

Admissions will inform prospective students of the program closure and guide them to other programs.

“We sincerely thank everyone, including the City of Maysville, who has been part of the Culinary Program and recognize the impact it has had on our campus and community,” Calland concluded.

The Culinary Arts Institute of MCTC is in Suite 1 of the Cox Building on 2 East Third Street in Maysville, Kentucky.

The site is currently used to teach culinary arts programs and credentials related to the program.

The college bakery will be open for the next several weeks on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The bakery will be closed on Thanksgiving and through institutional closing (Dec. 23 - Jan. 5).

The bakery’s hours on Wednesdays are from 2 to 6 pm.

Hours on Thursdays are from 9 am to 3 pm.

The café side of the culinary school will be open for seating, leaving the option for carry out or enjoying baked goods at the café.
