Jonathon demonstrates excellent skills in his classes while balancing his home and school life. His family owns and cares for a farm in Carlisle, Kentucky.

The farm, A Touch of Grace Farm, consists of livestock and crop production as well as various other things.

Jonathon ensures the animals are well cared for every day.

As a child, Jonathon showed interest in welding as a Boy Scout/Eagle Scout and Kentucky Colonel.

A scout badge related to welding inspired his pursuit of the industry and led to his enrollment in the MCTC welding program.

Jonathon works with a team that listens to him and provides him with resources needed to fulfill his tasks, inside and outside of welding courses.

“I love my teachers and staff. They are helpful and kind,” Jonathon remarked.

His communication and social skills have improved since joining the program.

His instructors, Ryan Morgan and Adam Wallingford, are proud to work with Jonathon and his classmates in the welding classes.

“Jon excels at his tasks in the welding classes. He has excellent hand-eye coordination, he’s patient and learns his assignment tasks quickly, which allows him to focus on successfully completing projects. He’s also one of the best student’s we have,” they said.

Overall, Jonathon’s goal is to learn practical skills that will allow him to have a job and become more independent, on and off his family’s farm.
