RN student practicing with an IVMaysville Community and Technical College is now accepting an annual cohort of 24 students for the Registered Nursing program on the Montgomery Campus.

Previously, MCTC admitted students into the program biannually.

“We are thrilled to announce that our RN program will now admit a cohort of students annually, allowing us to meet the growing demand for skilled nurses in our community,” remarked Rebecca Morton, director of Career Services at MCTC.

She continued, “This expanded access strengthens MCTC’s commitment to providing high-wage, high-demand programs that prepare students for successful healthcare careers.”

“Offering an annual ADN (Associate Degree Nursing) cohort, rather than a biannual one, significantly enhances our college’s capacity to address the nursing shortage in our region and across the state of Kentucky,” said Ginger Clarke-Gallagher, associate vice president of Health Sciences and nursing program administrator at MCTC.

MCTC’s ADN program is covered by the Kentucky Work Ready Scholarship.

Covering tuition for up to 60 credit hours in high-demand fields, the scholarship makes nursing education more accessible to a broader range of students.

“Our nursing instructors at Maysville Community and Technical College have truly established a legacy of excellence,” remarked Clarke-Gallagher.

She continued, “We could not be prouder of them, along with the MCTC staff and our students, who have worked incredibly hard to build this program to where it is today.”

According to Clarke-Gallagher, MCTC’s ADN programs have met the Kentucky Board of Nursing’s benchmarks with NCLEX pass rates above state average.

MCTC will now admit 24 students annually to the RN program on the Montgomery Campus.

The application deadline for the next cohort is March 1, 2025.
