Nola Roberts has been named Student of the Month (SOM) for October at Maysville Community and Technical College.
MCTC faculty and staff are invited to make such nominations for students who deserve recognition for extraordinary effort and accomplishments each month.
Selected students receive recognition through a signed certificate from the president and by having their photo displayed in the President’s Office lobby for the month.
Nola was nominated for Student of the Month by Tabatha Butler, the Human Services Program Coordinator at MCTC.
Nola is her advisee and is in the Human Services program.
Tabatha nominated Nola because of her efforts exhibited as a student.
“She is a wonderful student who is thriving in class, the workforce and her community,” Tabatha remarked.
Nola works for Student Support Services at MCTC. In her role, she tutors students in the Human Services program.
In addition, Nola recently spoke at the National Recovery Day event on the Maysville campus and has started a group at her church for women 18 and older called Relationship PTSD survivors.
Nola remarked on being chosen as October SOM for MCTC.
“I am honored to be chosen for SOM, knowing there are so many who work just as hard as I have,” Nola said. “I am grateful for all the opportunities the college has given me, and for all the people who have helped me get here.”
Nola will graduate from MCTC in Spring 2025 and is planning to transfer to Northern Kentucky University to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Human Services and Addictions.
