Montgomery County Sheriff David Charles joined Dr. Laura McCullough, President/CEO of Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) on Tuesday to sign a memorandum of agreement to improve the safety and security of faculty, staff, and students on MCTC's Montgomery Campus in Mt. Sterling.
“The safety of the faculty, staff, and students of MCTC is our top priority,” said McCullough. “Today is a great day for our Montgomery Campus, and we are thankful to be able to provide a more secure environment for everyone who walks through our doors.”
As a part of the agreement, Tim Brown, who most recently served in Bath County as a school resource officer at Bath County Middle School, will spend time on campus each week.
“This is a wonderful example of when organizations work together for the common good of our community,” said Sheriff Charles. “We are excited to assist in providing security to this institution of higher learning and to the citizens and future of our community.”
Brown has been in law enforcement for 28 years and came to Montgomery County in 1996. His first day on campus was May 6.
“I am excited to be here,” said Brown. “This opportunity seemed like a natural progression for me. The timing was great, so it seemed like it was meant to be.”
Brown can be contacted by calling the college at (859) 499-6282 ext 66500 or by emailing tbrown0885@kctcs.edu.
