The Beta Alpha Rho chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) recently held its induction ceremony on April 24 at the Licking Valley Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC).
Dr. Laura McCullough, MCTC President/CEO provided remarks to the inductees and their guests.
“Many MCTC students have jobs, families, or other competing interests which can distract them from successfully completing their course work,” she said. “The group of students assembled here tonight most likely experience obstacles to their success, yet they have achieved remarkable grade point averages and provided leadership and service to our communities.”
She added, “Phi Theta Kappa is more than just an honor society; it is a community of scholars, united by a shared commitment to excellence, leadership, and service. As we come together, let us reflect on the significance of this moment—a celebration of your hard work, dedication, and intellectual curiosity.”
Also speaking to the inductees was PTK advisor, Jennifer Adler who spoke to the students about the significance of their membership in this prestigious organization.
“At every step, you've chosen excellence. You've chosen intelligence, leadership, and hard work. You are the mentors for other students, and that is worth celebrating today and every day.”
Inducted students included: Olivia Barry, Jenna Berry, Elizabeth Levi, Katy Linville, Morgan Mink, and Grace Robbins.
