Maysville Community & Technical College is pleased to announce that every student in the December graduating cohort of the Practical Nursing program at the Rowan Campus has passed their national licensing exam on their first attempt.
The NCLEX is a nationwide standardized examination used by state regulatory boards to determine if recent graduates are prepared to become licensed as an entry-level nurse.
This is the program’s sixth 100% pass rate since 2017.
“We are so proud of our students,” said Jennifer Garner, assistant professor of the program. “Our students truly put their hearts into nursing, making it not just a career but also a passion. We love seeing our students succeed.”
“Being part of their academic journey has been an incredible honor,” added Dawn Greenfield, assistant professor and PN assistant coordinator. “The experience has been nothing short of rewarding, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to their success.”
The Rowan Campus was recognized as #1 in last October’s list of the top ten “Best LPN Programs in Kentucky” by PracticalNursing.org.
The study ranked the top ten programs in Kentucky using recent and historical NCLEX pass rates as the primary means to measure student support toward licensure and beyond.
"The Practical Nursing program faculty excel at challenging their students to achieve their educational, career, and personal goals. They adeptly equip students with the essential skills to thrive as licensed practical nurses,” said Ginger Clarke, Associate Dean of Health Sciences. “I am incredibly proud of the dedication and accomplishments of our students, the unwavering commitment of our faculty, and the supportive role of our staff. Together, they have created an environment of excellence that not only meets but exceeds professional standards. We look forward to continuing this tradition of excellence and witnessing the future successes of our graduates.”
Acceptance in the PN program at MCTC is based on a selective admission process.
LPNs who choose to continue their education are encouraged to apply to MCTC’s LPN to RN online program, which admits every January.
