Dec. 1 is Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship deadline

Students interested in applying for the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship for the spring semester should complete the application before the December 1 deadline.

Current students who received the scholarship this fall do not have to apply again and will be awarded the scholarship for the spring semester as well.

The Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship allows students to earn up to sixty credit hours tuition-free in high-demand career fields including health care, advanced manufacturing, transportation/logistics, business services/IT, or construction.

Over twenty programs at MCTC are Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship eligible.

The scholarship is available to Kentucky residents with a high school diploma or working on their GED who don’t already have an associate degree or higher.

Jessica Sorrell, Work Ready Coordinator, said she is happy to provide information or support to students interested in applying for the scholarship.

“This scholarship is a great opportunity for eligible students to come to college without paying a dime in tuition and then go to work in a high-wage field,” she said.

Scholarships are granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
