Joy BakerMaysville Community & Technical College (MCTC) has recently welcomed a new Kynector Coordinator, Joy Baker.

Baker is employed through Kentucky Primary Care Association (KPCA) and will be assisting MCTC students, staff, and community with health care resources. These resources include Medicaid, enrollment/renewals, Qualified Health Insurance Coverage, KHCIP, and other benefit programs. Services also include childcare assistance and access to SNAP benefits.

“It is a true privilege to be able to assist our community so we can build our future together,” said Baker.

Baker attended MCTC and went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree at Northern Kentucky University in Organizational Leadership. Throughout her career, she worked at Harrison Memorial Hospital as a financial counselor and says she enjoys serving her community.

Baker shares that her goal is to decrease healthcare worries by educating and assisting the public on all the great healthcare resources that Kentucky has to offer.

“We know that many of our students leave the college before completing a credential because life happens. These students are often successful in the classroom but are unable to complete a program because of circumstances beyond their control,” said Jessica Kern, Chief Officer of Enrollment and Student Services. “Joy will be available to connect them to resources that will help them overcome these challenges and allow them to stay with us to finish their education and training.”

Baker’s primary office will be on the Maysville campus with office hours of 8 A.M to 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. She is available to students on other campuses via Teams or will visit those campuses by appointment.

She will also be available remotely to all students during the institutional closing.

Baker can be contacted by emailing jbaker0100@kctcs.edu.
