2025 Graduation Information | MCTC

ALL CAMPUSES REMOTE, TUESDAY, JANUARY 21

All MCTC campuses will operate remotely Tuesday, January 21 due to winter weather conditions. All campus buildings will be closed. Student services will be available by phone or email. Instruction will take place remotely. If students have question about assignments or remote instruction, please contact your instructors.

    2025 Graduation Information

    Plans for the Maysville Community and Technical College commencement ceremony for Summer 2024, Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 graduates have been finalized. All graduates, families and friends are invited to attend. Location and details are as follows. RSVPs are not required.

    Date and Time

    Montgomery County High School Arena
    Friday, May 9 @ 6:00 p.m.

    Cap and Gown

    Caps, gowns, and tassels are available by visiting MCTC Graduation Products or may be purchased at the Rowan Campus or Maysville Campus bookstores. Online orders must be placed by April 9 to have the item shipped to a home address. After this date orders may still be placed online for pick-up in store until 10 days before Commencement.

    Students may use awarded financial aid money to purchase caps, gowns, and tassels until January 22.

    If you are an honor graduate, your honor cord will be given to you when you arrive for the ceremony. Honor graduates have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 from KCTCS.

    Check-in

    Check-in at the Registration Table at commencement. Check-in will begin at 5:00 pm. Upon check-in you will receive a note card with your name on it and an honor cord, if you are an honor graduate. We will have commencement staff at the main entrance of the site to direct you to the Registration Table.

    Ceremony

    Line-up for the commencement processional will begin at 5:30 p.m.

    The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 and will last approximately one hour. During the ceremony, graduates will be called to the stage by degree type (AA, AS, AAS, Diploma, Certificate) and will hand your enclosed name card to Dr. Dana Calland, Chief Academic Officer, upon reaching the stage during the ceremony so she can read your name. Then you will return to and remain in your seat until the ceremony has concluded.

    Credentials

    Credentials for Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 graduates have already been mailed. Spring 2025 credentials will be mailed in June.
