Local Students Attend MCTC International Day

Maysville, KY (December 14, 2011). Nearly 250 local high school seniors traveled to the Maysville Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) for International Day. During this event, the seniors had the opportunity to meet individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds while learning about careers, etiquette, and relations on the international level.

Lance Erikson, assistant director of the Center for Slavic and East European Studies at Ohio State University, served as the guest speaker. Stephanie Buchanan and Tonya Wenz performed and spoke about the background of Zumba dancing. The countries represented at this event include Peru, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Germany, India, France, Mexico, and West Africa.

International Day was a great success, says Maggie Baker, MCTC P-16 coordinator and director for the event. We were so pleased to have seniors from Mason County and St. Patricks schools. We hope to continue this event on a larger scale.
