PBL members compete at a regional level. If successful, they advance to the state level, and finally to the national level. Advancing to the national competition is not an easy thing to do. Fortunately, Maysville Community and Technical College had two passionate and dedicated student representatives compete in the national competition this year.

After placing 3rd at the PBL state competition, Erica Mastin received an invitation to compete at Nationals. Although Im an MCTC graduate, there are many aspects of this year, including the people I've met, opportunities I've had, and life lessons I've learned, that I will take with me as I further my education and pursue my goals, Mastin stated while reminiscing on her MCTC and PBL experiences.

Sierra O'Cull, PBL vice president and business major, did not take the chance to experience the 2016 PBL national conference lightly. My experience in PBL has led me to great opportunities, to cross paths with amazing people as well as to cultivate a passion, O'Cull reflected. After deciding business as my major, PBL has helped me move forward in the business community and network with people who could help me flourish.

We are so proud of these two young women, stated Dr. Juston Pate, MCTC's chief academic officer. Its an honor when our students get recognized at state competitions and a tremendous accomplishment to excel at such a high level. Taking it to the national stage is exponentially more impressive, and something that very few people will ever experience!
