MCTC Faculty Member to Study in England

Maysville Community and Technical College Associate Professor Alex Hyrcza recently learned he has been selected to participate in the 2010 British Experience in Living and Learning at Regents Park this summer. Thanks to the partnership between the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and Georgetown College, faculty have the chance to apply for a two-week study in England. This is a wonderful opportunity to support faculty in their professional development, said Hyrcza. I appreciate KCTCS and Georgetown College for giving me this opportunity.
This prestigious scholarship allows Professor Hyrcza to live at Regents Park College of Oxford University to conduct research on Josephus use of Greek terms in his first century account of the war between the Romans and the Jews. Professor Hyrcza will also get a chance to meet face to face his dissertation advisor at the University of Oxford. Hyrczas dissertation is through a joint program between the Graduate Theological Foundation and the University of Oxford.
I congratulate Alex on garnering this scholarship, said MCTC President Ed Story. This is just another example of our faculty broadening their international experience. We look forward to Alex sharing with the college community his rich experience while in Great Britain.
