MCTC's Licking Valley Campus Presented Equity Award
The Licking Valley Business and Professional Women organization honored the Licking Valley Campus and the Equity Team with their 2010 Business Equity Award. The award criteria included completion of a detailed application covering equity issues for women at Maysville Community and Technical Colleges Licking Valley Campus. Equitable pay, leadership and advancement opportunities, affirmative action and recruitment programs were among items outlined in the application. Bruce Florence, Branch Campus Director of LVC, assembled an equity team to answer the questions through research and reflection. Along with Florence, the team consisted of Lori Gaunce, Sandy Power, Missy Bishop, Donna Slone, David Lawler, Lauren Mattox, Karey Smith and Debbie Gill. The team accepted the award on behalf of LVC at the LVBPWs annual awards banquet on Tuesday, October 26th in Cynthiana. LVCs application binder will be taken to the Kentucky Federation of Business and Professional Women conference in May to be considered for a state award.
LVBPW President Martha Sullivan surprised the Equity Team by presenting a check for $100 as a donation to LVCs Furnish the Future fund raising campaign. This is LVCs first public donation.
