Maysville Community and Technical College Commencement Activities Announced

Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) graduates will participate in commencement exercises Friday, May 4, on the lawn in front of the administration wing of the Maysville campus at 6:30 pm. For academic year 2011-12, MCTC will award over 560 diplomas and degrees to 429 graduates.

MCTC President Ed Story will preside over the evenings program. Kelly Grenier from the Licking Valley Campus in Cynthiana will be the featured student speaker. Board of Directors Chair Mr. Charles Calvert will also provide a welcome to the graduates and their guests. Awards for Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Service to Education will be presented during commencement. A reception to honor the graduates will immediately follow commencement in the Van Meter Student Center on the first floor of the Calvert Wing and the lobby of the Technical Wing. All family, friends, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

A graduation awards celebration is held on each of the MCTC campuses. Students on the Rowan campus celebrated Friday, April 27th. Thursday, May 3, the celebration will get underway at 5:30 pm at The Prizing House in Cynthiana for the students of the Licking Valley campus. Friday, May 4, festivities will begin on the Maysville campus. The picnic is scheduled for 11:30 am in the Van Meter Student Center, 1st floor, Calvert wing. The graduation awards celebration for the students of the Maysville campus will immediately follow the picnic.

In case of inclement weather a decision will be made regarding the commencement site by noon on Wednesday, May 2nd, and the announcement will be posted on the MCTC website.
