Maysville Community Technical College celebrates National Distance Learning Week

Faculty and staff of Maysville Community amp; Technical College enjoyed a reception November 12 hosted by the MCTC Distance Learning staff. The reception was held in honor of National Distance Learning Week (NDLW). NDLW seeks to promote and celebrate the tremendous growth and accomplishments occurring today in distance learning programs offered by schools, businesses, and governmental departments. In 1998 MCTC had one ITV lab on the Maysville campus. Today there are 11 labs and portable units available at four locations. In 2000 there were three online sections offered while the schedule for spring 2010 semester already boasts over 200 online sections. 95% of the MCTC faculty teach online classes, offer hybrid or web-enhanced courses. Through online offerings students are provided the flexibility to take classes around their work and family schedules. MCTC will continue to explore avenues for growth in distance learning.
