MCTC Announces Free Tuition for New Spring 2022 Semester Students
Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) announced today that it is offering free tuition to new students for the Spring 2022 semester.
The Spring Free Tuition Program provides funding to cover any new student tuition costs after any and all other financial aid has been awarded.
“This is a last-dollar in scholarship,” explains Barb Campbell, Chief Business Affairs Officer for the college. “Meaning any tuition or fees remaining on a student’s account will be covered by the Spring Free program after any financial aid, grants or scholarships have been applied.”
Any new/first-time, credential-seeking students who qualify for Kentucky in-state tuition and were admitted in Summer 2021, Fall 2021 or Spring 2022 term may be eligible for the scholarship.
Other KCTCS college students, visiting students, students with prior college credit(s) excluding dual-credit hours, and current high school students are ineligible at this time.
To take advantage of the Spring Free program new students simply need to apply to MCTC and register for at least credit six hours of classes (maximum of fifteen credit hours). A free application is available via the college's web page at maysville.kctcs.edu.
Students will also need to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
Those enrolling in programs eligible for the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship will also be required to first apply for that scholarship during the enrollment process.
The announcement was made during a live-streamed event via the college’s Facebook page on Friday, October 1 just in time to kick off the Spring 2022 Semester enrollment period.
