Cindy Hurt Named Apprenticeship Coordinator at MCTC
Cindy Hurt of Frenchburg has accepted the new Apprenticeship Project Coordinator position at Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC).
She will be based on the Montgomery Campus.
Cindy joins MCTC after 11 years at Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act better known as WIOA which is facilitated regionally through the Kentucky Career Center.
Her duties at the college will include recruiting students as well as industrial partners for apprenticeship opportunities such as the KY Fame program.
She will also work with the local business community to provide training opportunities such as Class-A CDL, OSHA, Drone Technology and more through the Workforce Solutions division of MCTC.
This post is not Hurt’s first interaction with MCTC. She helped arrange training for her clients through the college in her previous role at WIOA.
Hurt’s son is also a recent graduate of the MCTC Lineworker Program and is now working for Davis H. Elliott.
“I’ve seen firsthand how important education and training can be for people,” says Hurt. “I’m excited to hit the ground running and continue my calling of helping people find rewarding careers through the mission of MCTC,” she stated.
