Dr. Thompson’s message centered on how higher education matters to the families, workforce and state of Kentucky. He also shared insights gained from his mission of trying to broaden the understanding that higher education is the key to personal opportunity and Kentucky’s economic growth.
This visit to MCTC comes on the end of a year-long listening tour across the state which allowed Dr. Thompson to learn first-hand the hurdles and experiences of those working in institutions of higher learning.
The assembly was also provided a presentation by Ashley McCarty, Employment Specialist at the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Workforce Center.
