MCTC Chief Academic Officer Candidate Bios

The following candidates have been selected by the Administration of Maysville Community and Technical College as finalists for the position of Chief Academic Officer. 


Candidates are scheduled for interviews and forums on the Maysville Campus to meet with MCTC faculty, staff, students, local leaders and community members.

All forum sessions will be held at the Crockett Auditorium in the Administration Building (A-268).


 

Dr. Dana Calland

Dr. Dana Calland Dr. Dana T. Calland is serving as the Associate Dean of Academic Support Services at Maysville Campus Director at Maysville Community and Technical College. She leads the college’s Quality Enhancement Plan, a five-year student learning project developing problem-solving skills, a significant requirement of the college’s accreditation work. She served as the Math and Natural Sciences Division Chair and taught full-time prior to that appointment.

Dr. Calland graduated from Maysville Community College, earned her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky, a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from Northern Kentucky University and her doctorate from Grambling State University.

 

Dr. Carry DeAtley

Dr. Carry DeAtleyDr. Carry DeAtley is currently Dean of Nursing and Allied Health at South Louisiana Community College (SLCC). Prior to SLCC, Dr. DeAtley served as Provost, interim President, and Vice President of Instruction and Economic Development at Coastal Bend College in Beeville, Texas. 

Dr. DeAtley has an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Medical Assisting from Southern State Community College. A Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Midway College in Midway, Kentucky. A Master’s in Business Administration from Franklin University.  She earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Argosy University with her dissertation on Appalachian Women and Community College Success. 

 

Dr. Angela Fultz 

Dr. Angela FultzDr. Angela Fultz lives in Morehead, Kentucky, and received her BA from Berea College and her MS and PhD from the University of Kentucky. She is a chemistry professor and the Division Chair for the Mathematics and Natural Science Division at Maysville Community and Technical College. Dr. Fultz served on the KCTCS Board of Regents as the General Education Faculty Regent from 2014-2021.

Her leadership experience includes Chair of the KCTCS Senate Council, Chair of the Maysville Faculty Assembly, Chair of the KCTCS Chemistry Curriculum Workgroup, the KCTCS Senate Advisory Committee on Promotions, and the Guided Pathways Workgroup. 

 

Dr. Josefer Montes 

Dr. Josefer MontesBorn in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico and raised in Orlando, Florida, Josefer Montes has 20 years of leadership experience including higher education, healthcare, and marketing. In October 2021 Josefer joined Harmonize Agency and before that he worked with Kettering Health. He held various posts with Kettering, including hospital president, vice-president of marketing & communications, and chief inclusion officer. Josefer completed a Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi.

He is married to Heather, a full-time mom and former dental hygienist, they have two kids, Camden, 15, and Cora, 9. When blessed with some free time, he likes to get in a few workouts, read a book, and help his wife with home remodeling projects.
