Sign Language with Tonya Northcutt. Learn Basic American Sign Language. It will give basic signs for communication with deaf or hard of hearing individuals. This is a great course for educators, child care professionals, or the community person wishing to learn new skills. Also this class would be very helpful for family and friends. Cake Decorating with Susie Wilson

Designed for the beginner, this class provides participants the opportunity to learn different techniques used by the professionals. Farm and Family Night

Organic Gardening Series Pest Management the Environmentally Friendly Way

There are endless sprays and concoctions on the market that claim to offer remedies for insects and diseases. We will explore several organic options such as companion planting and plant sprays and discuss which ones work and how they are beneficial for specific types of plants. We will blend a few and spray these herbal concoctions on our own for practice! Organic Gardening Series Plant Propagation with Cuttings

There are many plants that reproduce better by propagating through cuttings and many of these include certain tupes of herbs and annuals such as geraniums, rosemary, lavender, sage, oregano, thyme and yssop. We will also explore pruning techniques that improve our second or third year old plants and shrubs. Yes, pruning wiht specific types of tools and techniques make a clear difference. Oh! Freedom: Commemorating the Underground Railroad

This program commemorates the powerful connection of the Negro Spiritual and the Underground Railroad through five dramatic movements. Carefully selected prose narratives from historical scholars, poems from specific time periods and spirituals that align with the text give audiences the opportunity to commemorate the fusion of narrative and song to describe the evil, ugliness, and authentic beauty of this significant time in our history.

Pharmacy Tech

This comprehensive 50-hour course will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board's PTCB exam. Technicians work in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, community pharmacies and other health care settings - working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Course content includes medical terminology specific to the pharmacy, reading and interpreting prescriptions, and defining drugs by generic and brand names.  Students will learn dosage calculations, I.V. flow rates, drug compounding, dose conversions, dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control, and billing and reimbursement.  Course contact hours - 50 hours.

Class dates are Tuesdays and Thursdays March 17th - May 5th from 6:00 - 9:00pm.  Cost is $999.

Using Live Mixed Herbs

ICD-10 Coding

Join Phyllis Wood in this 18 hour update and get a jump start on the many changes coming soon with ICD-10 Coding. ICD-10 is an upgraded diagnostic and procedural medical coding system that, by law, must be implemented throughout the healthcare industry by October 1, 2015. this new coding system is radically different from the version currently in use, so it's important to start preparing for and implementing the massive changes to the existing coding system. Learn how the changes will affect your operations and how to use the new codes. this course is intended for people who currently work in a doctor's office or in a hospital.

Dog Obedience

Need to control your dog? The goal of this course is to get your dog to come when called, to sit, to stay, to lie down and stay, and to heel properly. The dog must be at least six months old and vaccinations must be current. Please bring proof of vaccinations to the first class. Please do not bring your dog the first night of class. Instructor George Rodgerson has 30+ years of experience training working livestock dogs to herd sheep and cattle, and has competed in sheep and cattle dog trials at the highest level. Register early! This class fills fast! Classes will take place March 24th - April 28th from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. The course will meet on the Maysville Campus in the Calvert Lounge. The course fee is $50.

Drought Tolerant Container Plants

Drought Tolerant Container Plants With Carrie Taylor. Combine mixed drought tolerant plants in a container you will refurbish. We will decorate the container or basket with mosses and grasses on the outside and plant a pleasurable visual mixture of plants that will compliment any porch or veranda during the summer with little care and minimal water throughout the season. If gardeners are limited on space, this can be challenging. Get together and plan a system where you will design the ideal areas where you can grow various vegetables, tubers, and vines throughout your gardens in a smooth transition from year to year. Stagger your planting areas from the spring through fall by planting various types of plants which are more interesting and fun! Start with spinach and greens in early spring and plant again for the fall. Plant your beans on July 4th...what?!! Motorcycle Safety

Learn to maneuver and operate a motorcycle in a controlled, off-street environment. This course offers approximately five hours of classroom instruction and ten hours of riding exercises in a controlled environment. Many grasses, succulents, and other types of plant materials require less water and are more practical for our landscapes and gardens. Explore aspects of Xeriscaping which incorporates and emphasizes unique designs, focusing on the use of textures, leaf shapes and colors (and less on blossoms) within designs. These tips will allow you to grow and increase your use of drought tolerant plants.
