The Montgomery Extension of Maysville Community and Technical College is partnering with several Mt. Sterling based manufacturing companies to provide employee training through Kentucky Workforce Investment Network System (KY WINS).
Masco Cabinetry, Molding and Millwork, Precision Resource and Regal Beloit have been awarded KY WINS funding to assist with the cost of providing workforce training and assessment services to current and potential employees.
The participating employees will be trained in a variety of skills, including leadership and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) laws and regulations. Employees will also be introduced to ladder logic while learning how to program and operate the Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controls SLC 500 and its associated Rockwell software.
KY WINS funds are distributed on a project basis under a cost-sharing arrangement.
“We are proud to announce this consortium,” said MCTC Workforce Solutions Business and Industry Liaison Mark Lambert. “These classes are intended to help the current employees of the companies upgrade their supervisory and technical skills.”
