Freedom Celebration VIII: A Multi-Cultural Experience

On Thursday, April 17th MCTC will host Freedom Celebration VIII: A Multi-Cultural Experience. A community reception with interactive exhibits will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by live performances at 7:00 p.m. Attendees will be able to experience spirituality and culture among many different lands through an assortment of historical artifacts, displays and discussions on religion, food, tradition, artistry and customs. Interactive exhibits include: Native American, Indian, Hispanic, Japanese, Polish and more.
Guests will also enjoy the talents of the Centre Academy Dance Team led by Cynthia Thomas who will be performing jazz, tap, contemporary, and musical theatre pieces.  The Cowbilly Bluegrass Band will entertain the audience with their unique style of music and hysterical humor, while the electrifying Sisters of the Sacred Drum, led by Joan Brannon, will perform traditional rhythms of West Africa.
